Each year thousands of tons of what we consider to be rubbish gets buried in our beautiful countryside. At the same time some families around the county are finding it hard to make ends meet and create a living space that they can really call home.

This is where OxChange comes in.

In the forums at OxfordTribe.com, we have set aside a very special section that we hope will help a great many people and help to keep our county green as well!

It's a big task, but with fantastic members just like you, it is becoming a reality each and every day.

Something to get rid of…?

Say you have an old sofa or fridge that you don't want any more. Instead of just calling the council to take it away to the tip, you can have someone come and take it off your hands that will put it to good use.

First you need to register for a free account at OxfordTribe.com then make your way to the OxChange Forum and post what you want to give away for free.

You know the saying “One man's rubbish is another man's treasure!”, well you will certainly see that in action at OxChange!

Need something…?

Say you are looking for something like a sofa or a fridge. All you need to do is pop along to the OxChange Forum and check out what others are offering. If you don't see what you are looking for then you can post a 'wanted' message as one of the other members might know just where to find what you are looking for!

Here are some simple rules to make this community resource a benefit to everyone…

1. Only post things that you are offering as free. If you want to charge for your item, then you can place a free ad in the classifieds section of this site.
2. If you are offering, please start your subject line with the word 'Offered' and if you are looking for something please start your subject line with the word 'Wanted'. This will make viewing the forum so much easier.
3. When you have found or got rid of what you wanted to, please edit the first post to change the subject line to "Done". This will stop people from wasting their time looking at requests that are already filled.

In this section, the lovely people of Oxfordshire can post things that they would like to offer 'Free To A Good Home'. This is OxfordTribe.com's version of Freecycle. With luck, that old chair or lawn mower may just be what another member needs. Let's use this section to help build that community spirit in Oxfordshire!
