Can someone recommend a good bed and breakfast in the Wallingford area as well as a couple of great restaurants? Thanks!

I have not been here yet but would also love to know about some good B&B's to stay at. I have always enjoyed staying at B&B's more then your big hotels. It is just a lot more personal and quiet atmosphere.

For me it depends more on where it is that I'll be staying. If it's a quaint and gorgeous little town in the UK or other places in Europe, I want a B&B. If it's along the east coast in the US, I want a hotel with a view of the ocean from one of the higher floors... or a cottage near the beach. If it's someplace like Cairo, I MUST have a place like a Hilton or another well known hotel chain to be sure the accomodations will be okay... and safer.

B&Bs are also good for getting more of a taste of the culture of wherever you are. I know that in most of them you will have local hosts and more than enough of an opportunity to chat with them and get to know about where you're staying. I'd like to know about this too although I doubt I will be staying at any bed and breakfasts for the first while.

Very true... and many (most actually) of the hosts are more than willing to go "beyond of the call of duty" to show their guests a good time in the area.

Yeah I've always noticed that many of the hosts are very proud of where they live and how in touch with the culture they are. This is true in Canada as well and I assume that it's something that is common across the world. You have to love where you live if you're going to run a B&B there and always be talking to people from elsewhere.

and also the government sees as if the correct people are providing the BB services. its not that all and everyone can provide this service. i think BBs are good to understand the local culture.

i had a BB experience when i was in india and it really helped me in understanding the indian culture which can be very confusing without help from the others.

I completely agree with you. Sometimes, it really matters where you are when it comes to deciding where to stay. Everytime I go to the beach, I like to stay in a place where I could have a good glimpse of the sea and the sunset most especially.

I would also have to agree with you that it just depends on where you are staying and what you are looking to get out of the trip. If I was along the ocean I would love to have something right on the beach. But if I am in a whole other country I think I would love what the B&B's have to offer more.

I think you should find a nice cabin to stay in wallingford. If you stay in a bed and breakfast, you might as well just go to a hotel. For a good experience, get a nice quaint cabin on the shore side.
