At Wallingford High Street, high traffic is causing more pollution as the tall buildings here are not allowing the fumes to release freely to the atmosphere. So Oxfordshire county council & South Oxfordshire district council has planned to divert traffic to the eastern side of the Wallingford bridge. Will it be successful for controlling the air pollution or any other steps they will have to take ?

i am not very sure as to how that part of wallingford looks like. i hope the roads are wide enough to accomodate all the traffic that is going to pass from there. why not make wallingford high street as a one way lane, that should solve the problem to some extent ???

Turning it into a one way street could help a bit but it may be best divert traffic like they're already planning. This is something that I'm glad they're trying to address though as the pollution will end up accumulating if not dealt with.

I don't see how it could hurt to try this and see if it helps. I think it is great to see that they recognize the problem and are trying to reduce the pollution. Wish more places would follow suit.

It sounds like something that could work to stop pollurion in wallingford. It could work or it could be a flop. Either way, it is worth the try to see if it works.

Let's all pray that diverting the traffic would work. Air pollution is a problem worldwide, not just locally. It would be great to have fresh air again. Or air that's not so polluted.
