Youngsters,mileage & Road safety-A Serious matter 2008/03/20 11:50 Karma: 0
A recent report shows that the number of accidents in Thames Valley area is increasing.Youngsters are driving vehicles at a very high speed. They are not following the Road Safety messages.Seatbelt, mobile phone & high speed offences are more in case of youngsters. So they are putting their life as well as others life in danger. What is the solution here ?In which way they can be punished to change their attitudes?

First of all I don't think that they should be allowed to talk on the cell phone while driving. We have this problem in our area they have made it a law that you cannot talk on your cellphone while driving. The other think is anyone under 18 yrs. old cannot have more that two other kids under 18 in the car with them without an adult. They are trying this to hopefully stop exactly what you are describing above.

They should be tortured. Risking someones life isn't some kind of game you know. They might end up being murderers. They should be hit in the back with a whip until they decide never to disobey the rules. If that doesn't work than they should be sent to jail for a year or two.

Wow!! good job your not a Judge
Its a huge problem but not a new one is it really? I like the law brandon05 mentioned about anyone under 18 yrs old cannot have more that two other kids under 18 in the car with them without an adult.
This needs to be implemented as it certainly encourages this kind of activity.
You know my thoughts on this would be a car that could be modified so that its max speed would only reach 40 mph and anyone under 18 would HAVE to drive this type of car with what would be known as a 'learner key'. It would be illegal for insurance companies to provide insurance for an modified car for an under 18. Once they were 18 they would be re tested and given the 'FULL KEY' to modify their car back to standard speeds. Yes i know these things can be tampered with but anyone caught would have a 5 yr driving ban.

Sounds difficult but when you consider its already done with Jet Ski's with learner keys surely it cant be that hard to implement.

shoumik, you are being pretty harsh over there. i just wish that that treatment wont turn them into monsters. traffic classes should be given more importance at schools and parents need to exercise some strict rules on their kids before they let them loose.
