Stuff For Kids To Do 2008/02/11 14:19 Karma: 0
I just found out yesterday that my cousin may be bringing her eight year old son. I was just wondering what are some fun places that a child would enjoy in the area? Really looking for anything that you might recommend. Thanks.

My manager took her son to the Pitt Rivers Museum on saturday and she said they are really child friendly and gave him stuff to do. Whenever I have been in there then there are always kids running round with activity sheets.

You mentioned activity sheets. Do you know if this is a "Hands On" museum? My wife's sister took our kids to a hands on museum before and they loved it.

Thanks for mentioning this one. I looked it up and to answer your question on the worksheets. They seem to have quite a bit. There are coloring pages, quizzes and I "feelie boxes". Not to sure what that is though?

Feelie boxes? Maybe it's something where the kids can touch and try to guess what's inside the box. This is just a conjecture though, so don't take my word for it.

That sounds like a good possibility to me also. I always hated things like that. Only because I didn't know what I was feeling until after the fact.

I don't think kids would like museums that much. When I was a kid I usually hated going to a museum. I think they would like an amusement park better. But if it was me I would prefer a gaming console to spend boring time.

Cuttleslowe park at the end of Harbord Road will be a best place for the kid.He can enjoy duck pond, flower gardens & also the children's playground there.

You can also try visit Cogges Manor Farm and step back in time. Cogges is best described as a "working museum" where you get a taste of Oxforshire life during the Victorian times.

The little ones will surely be amazed as they watch traditional farm animals and dairy maids at work! Plus, Cogges also offers a wide array of activities the whole family will surely enjoy! Care to try this one?
