Another thing I'm a bit worried about when getting to Oxford is finding steady employment to keep myself afloat. I have a little bit saved up so I don't need to get a job right away but I was wondering what kind of jobs there would be for a young male Canadian studying English and History in Oxford.

This is a very good question my friend! I would also love to learn more about how employment is in Oxford especially for students. I am hoping to get my student visa very soon and if I do, employment will definitely be one of my agenda.

I would love to get an I.T based job on campus either repairing computers or doing some kind of network/server administration as I am currently doing that as a job here in Australia. Otherwise I have no idea how, or where I am going to get a job nearby Oxford!
