Your Favourite Flight Providers? 2008/02/08 17:59 Karma: 1
Hey, one other thing that I wanted to ask advice about is regarding flights getting over to England itself. I've been looking around a bit on my own end but was wondering if any of you travelers have any bits of advice regarding good, cheap flights?

Thanks!

I would also love to know of any good deals anyone might know about? I haven't really looked into this part of our trip yet because we are still finalizing the exact dates we are hoping to visit. When we are ready I would love some ideas on where to look for the best deals. Thanks.

hmm I don't know about cheap flights, but British Airwaves have pretty good service, never had any real baggage or delays with the airline. So I would recommend flying with BA, but I don't know about any good deals.

If you're a student, you should get an international student card since it makes you eligible for all sorts of discounts. In accordance with that, STA Travel offers pretty cheap tickets. If you're not a student, I've found travelcuts.com and ytbtravel.com to be pretty cheap as well.

In my experience, British Airways has always been the best carrier for flying to England. I have only flown British Airways and Northwest to London from the US, but Northwest would have been a distant second place in my opinion.

Also, I would say that there are deals to be had on British Air, but you have to watch closely. A couple of years ago, my wife and I were able to take a round trip flight to London on British Air for $198 US, each. The window for the deal was just over 24 hours, so we had to act fast.

if you are looking for a real cheap airline and which provides decent service, then its the asiana airlines. its a south korean airlines and as i had to book my tickets very close to the travelling date, so booked this one as the rest were costlier. and i got to admit that i was surprised because the service was much better than you could expect for the money i had paid.

I checked out their website and they do not fly from any airport in the US within 5 hours of where I am. That wouldn't matter too much if the flight was cheap enough though. I tried to see if I could get a price for a trip from Chicago to London and they had no flights.

The only place I could fly to from the US was Korea. Oh well.

Are you talking about Asiana? I don't use that a lot because as you said, it doesn't offer frequent flights to the places I'm visiting. I don't think they're particularly cheap either. I'd say use a European/US flight provider if you're traveling between those two continents.

A lot of great info here. I have used trip adviser to also find things to do when we go. We are finally going to be booking tickets in two weeks. Took forever to get a date where everyone could go at the same time. Cannot wait.
