this is what this country needs 2008/03/25 10:40 Karma: 2
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: ' IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.'

' This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

' We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!'

' Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

' We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

' This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom,

' THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'

' If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves,British citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

Hi Shadrack...

So you seem to be a cut 'n' paste member of this forum that for some reason doesn't form his own opinions but rather uses other to get his points across...

I would like to here what you think about John Howard's views, instead hearing what someone else thinks...

I too don't agree with the use of Sharia law in the UK, however would be interested to hear your real views and thoughts about it instead of those cut 'n' pasted from others...

I wonder what the indigenous peoples of Australia thought of the laws that the Europeans forced on them when they emigrated and sent there criminals there...

Remember Shadrak, there are two sides to each coin...

Is it right for us to say 'no' to the laws of others because we were here first? Or is it right that because we are a different race that we can go to another country and enforce our views and way of lives?

One argument that is always brought to the front by uneducated individuals is that 'they [immigrants] can do what they want here, but if we tried it in their country, they would not put up with it!'. I always point out to these individuals that their argument is as sound as a defective condom... What about Australia, North America and South Africa, where white Europeans invaded without much concern for the local indigenous peoples...

Was that OK or was that a crime?

As I said... There are always two sides to every coin...

Interesting topic!

I couldn't disagree more with the views expressed in the first posting. Although it is Australian policy to form their own legislature regarding immigration and so forth this sounds like more a manifesto of hatred and prejudice than anything else. Like Richard pointed out, most of Commonwealth history is one of immigration so what makes newer arrivals much different than those who took over the indigenous population of Australia's land? It's a much more complex issue than can be defined by saying that 'the Aussies have come from this country and seen the light'. To me that reeks of blind intolerance which is pretty unsupported by any other argument than Islamophobia.

I thought the Australians voted John Howard out of office a few months ago - I guess they did not like his views, and that leaves him in no position to claim he is talking for Australians.

I don't share a belief in a God who supports fear and threats and exclusion of others. In fact, is there any God who has advocated National Boundaries and State control?
I doubt it.

Hey, Shadrak. It looks like you would require all immigrants to abandon or hide their own identities and become some replica of a fictional 'englishness'.
If you got your way with all the 'non-english', you would still have all of us deviant, dissenting, free-thinking english-born-and-bred to deal with.
Doesn't that fill you with dread?
