Pick your own 2008/03/22 12:32 Karma: 0
Do you like to pick your own? its so nice to be able to pick your own fruit and veg and get the little ones involved too.
I tried Peachcroft Farm in Radley Abingdon, and i really enjoyed my time there. You can pick berries, strawberries, peas, also potatoes, asparagus etc.
The farm Shop has soft fruits, vegetables, cream, free-range eggs, free-range poultry, cakes, pies, preserves, fruit juices, and honey.
It maked a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the supermarket i have to say.
The farm is open Mon-Sat 9am-5.30pm, Sun 10am-5pm.

Perhaps I shouldn't admit this but I would have no interest in picking my own fruits and veggies now. Maybe in the past it would have seemed exciting but I'm afraid that now I'm just more content buying them already picked.

I *do* like farmers markets and open air markets, however, and I highly prefer purchasing produce "straight from the farm" than at a supermarket.

definitely pick your own better as you get your fresh daily vegetables and fruits for yourself. its much healthier than those marinated or preserved ones.

I would love to pick my own fruits and vegetables. My maternal grandparents leave in the farm and this is one of the things I truly enjoy since I was a child. There is nothing better than eating the freshest picks!

I have went and taken the boys to pick strawberries before when we were making homemade jam. They actually had a ball doing that. Of course they ate a ton while picking. I also love the farmer's markets. I love fresh fruits and vegetables the best.

I prefer picking my own if I can. Food is always best when they're fresh. Plus, the satisfaction you get from the actual picking of what you're going to eat is absolutely worth the work.
