Operation Jaunt 2008/02/21 17:13 Karma: 0
So has anyone heard about this? Basically, the police are cracking down on underage drinking. So far, they have seized over 50 bottles and cans of alcohol and that was only in the first 2 days of the operation!

Personally, I think that this is way over due. From what I see, alcohol can lead to other things like drugs. We need to show our children we mean business!

Yes, I agree with it. Especially when these same teens are running around driving while drunk. I am sorry but where are the parents?

Our roads are not that safe anymore because of reckless drivers. Worst, there are more and more incidents of accidents brought about by drunk driving.

Maybe a few times of getting caught will help them to wise up. Not sure but it sure beats doing nothing about the problem.

This is very good. Alcohol should be seized all around the world. Lots of people are drunk in my country. Alcohol should be destroyed.

Normally underage drinking is harmful for their healths. So it is the primary duty of parents to keep their teenagers away from alcohol.Lastly,a very nice step taken by the police.

Well... okay, this is great that they're doing it and I agree that it should have been happening a long time ago...

... that said, though, well, 50 bottles and cans in two days of the operation doesn't sound so thrilling to me. One student's room could easily have that number of cans and more just sitting there. I think I would have been more impressed with 500.

Could this have anything to do with the rave crackdown by the police for Rave parties in Burford and neighboring areas? The Raves have been known for underage drinking.

I agree with Katharina, what's 50 bottles in the grand scheme of things?
Yes its a nice gesture but why are the police doing the job of parents? why are these children hanging around on street corners at stupid o clock in the first place?
I think curfews are a thing of the past, some parents just want an easy life and if that means the children are out of their hair then so be it, while we the public have to deal with their anti social behaviour instead!

well we should consider that many factors are affecting kids on these days. i mean they watch their parents, friends, siblings, relatives and others drinking. sooner or later they might had think that its a correct thing to do or so.
