A beauty spot despoiled by rubbish has been branded "disgraceful" by people who use the area next to the River Thames.
Land between Abingdon Bridge and Abingdon Lock, opposite the Abbey Grounds in the town, a popular place for dog walking, has also been inhabited for the past year by a homeless man.
It has become a fly-tipping spot with mattresses, metal, plastic bags, electric kettles and buggies left in fields flanked by the River Thames.
Its also both a picnic area and a conservation site used by wildlife groups, i cant fathom why the authorities are laid back in their approach about this.

sounds terrible... they should help him instead of letting him stay like this... i mean it'll screw up the tourism in that area right? and those things are certainly gonna hurt someone.

Well, it all sounds sad. I hate it when beauty spots are destroyed. Maybe some environment group can take up the issue in collaboration with the neighborhood? The homeless man can be helped get a home or a trailer by a social service group, and something can be done to clean up the place.
